The annual Bike Swap at Freewheel Cycle is back!

Wanna buy a great used bike?
The Freewheel Bike Swap event is the single day each year where Freewheel resells vetted, quality used adult bicycles on consignment. Our Bike Swap is staged from our rear parking lot under tents, rain or shine. Buyers can be confident that the bikes we are offering are mechanically sound. Freewheel staff will offer the same advice on suitability and fit we do for new bike customers. Used bike buyers can test ride bikes they are interested in and are offered an opportunity to purchase new accessories at a “taxes-in” discount with free installation just like our new bike buyers.
Wanna sell a great used bike?
In preparation for the event, we’ll be accepting “bike shop quality” used bicycles our customers would like us to resell on their behalf from Tuesday, March 18 through Saturday April 12th. At time of drop-off we’ll assess your bike’s condition and age, determine whether any repairs are required prior to resale**, and agree upon a fair consignment sale price with you. After-which, if required we’ll perform any repairs to return the bike to good running order prior to Swap Day. Then on Easter Saturday, April 19th we’ll do our best to find new owners for all these consignment bikes!
Provided that your bike sells you will have two options:
1) Take 100% of the agreed sale price as an in-store credit.
– or –
2) Take 70% of the sale price in cash.
**Please note that the customer is responsible for the agreed cost of any required repairs we performed regardless of whether their bike sells during the Bike Swap Day event. If we sell your bike, any agreed repair costs will be deducted from the store credit or settlement cheque. If not, you can settle up for the repair when you collect your unsold bike in the week following the sale.
